| Project Playhouse- Pet Edition
Project Playhouse-Pet Edition is a new concept being launched by the Southern Nevada Chapter of HomeAid. Pet houses, designed and built by leading homebuilders, architects, vendors, trade partners and sponsors, will be on display in Town Square Park from May 4 to June 4 and auctioned off on June 4 at 4 p.m. The park will be turned into a neighborhood cul-de-sac complete with a "pet shoppe" for raffle ticket sales and pet treats. With more than 13,300 homeless on any given night in Southern Nevada, the mission to renovate and maintain housing is critical. | March for Babies
March for Babies is the largest fundraising event for March of Dimes, with more than 100 local and national companies contributing toward the day when all babies will be born healthy. The event takes place on May 7 and will be a celebration of families, friends and co-workers who have raised money to support March of Dimes research in finding causes for premature births so that one day, all babies will be born healthy. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and the walk begins at 8 a.m. Each year, more than 7,500 people in Las Vegas participate in March for Babies to show their support of the March of Dimes mission. The Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) Team Hope Walk will take place on May 14 at Town Square. Team Hope is a nationwide walk program by the HDSA to raise funds to improve the lives of people affected by Huntington's Disease (HD) and their families. Huntington's Disease is a hereditary, degenerative brain disorder that results in a loss of cognitive, behavioral and physical control, and for which, presently, there is no treatment or cure. | Passionately Pink for the Cure Fun Walk The inaugural Passionately Pink for the Cure Fun Walk will take place on Saturday May 21. The one mile Fun Walk is geared towards young families and kids featuring a peaceful one mile stroll through the streets of Town Square. Registration for Walk is at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $5 to register and all proceeds benefit the Southern Nevada Chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The walk is being organized by the Town Square Queens of Hearts, a group of volunteers based at retail stores in and around Town Square. | New Vista Community Wine Walk
The 2011 Wine Walk season continues on May 21 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is the second of four wine walks at Town Square, which showcase a variety of food and wine throughout Town Square Park. Each walk features 20 different wines for sampling and the cost is $30 per person. The walks are organized by New Vista Community, a local charity committed to providing equal opportunities and support to intellectually challenged people of all ages so that they may experience life to the fullest.
