LAS VEGAS (July 2, 2012) - A new childcare service is open at Town Square, and it offers professional nannies that will watch your child so you can enjoy a little free time. Artsy Nannies boasts an onsite childcare agency where parents can hire nannies while they go to dinner, enjoy happy hour, watch a movie or shop.
Artsy Nannies also delivers nannies direct to homes, hotels, conventions and more. Nannies come equipped with arts and crafts projects and games for children 12 months and older tailored to fit the child’s age. For the little ones in diapers, parents will receive a report detailing diaper changes, nap times and feedings. Childcare is available for up to three hours per visit to Artsy Nannies, and there is a three hour minimum when a nanny goes to a home or hotel.
Children six weeks to 17 years old are eligible for the childcare service, which was founded by Andrea Vallee in 2006. A mother of three with one on the way, Vallee began the business out of her home, and today she employs a staff of 15.
“I started Artsy Nannies when I was 23 years old after I realized there was a great need in Las Vegas for quality childcare providers,” said Vallee, a native Las Vegan. “I moved my company to Town Square because of its convenient location on the Strip. I can work face to face with my clients and offer a great service to the community. Both locals and tourists can enjoy dinner and a movie and not worry about their children because they’re having fun in a safe place.”
Once hired, nannies can take children to Town Square Park, Rave Motion Pictures, lunch or dinner or shop with them. Artsy Nannies is outfitted with child-sized furniture, and movies play on a big screen. Parents and their children are welcome to stop in and visit the children’s workshop area filled with arts and crafts.
The company is licensed, bonded and insured, and according to Vallee, completes background and reference checks on all its employees. Employees must be 20 years of age or older, have a minimum of three years experience caring for children and be CPR and First Aid certified for infants, children and adults.
“Parents who hire a nanny are hiring an actual employee, not a contractor,” Vallee said. “This means the client is hiring the company and not a person off of a list.”
According to Vallee, 85% of her clients are tourists, and about 50% of the 85% are International tourists. To accommodate this customer base, Vallee employs staff that are fluent in Spanish, French, Italian, American Sign Language and other languages.
“One of the reasons I opened a location at Town Square is to grow my local business,” she said. “Town Square is very family oriented so we’ll fit right in with a service that shopping center guests can really enjoy.”
Rates vary according to the service used. The cost for a nanny to travel to a hotel is $35 per hour with a three hour minimum and a $10 reservation fee. This rate is for up to three children. For a nanny to travel to a home, the rate is $23 per hour with a three hour minimum and a $10 reservation fee. This rate is for up to three children.
For Town Square visitors during Artsy Nannies Happy Hour special from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week excluding holidays, the rate is $20 per hour with a two hour minimum and a three hour maximum plus a $10 reservation fee. This rate is for up to three children from the same family. This service is also available during regular shopping center business hours with a rate of $23 per hour.
Vallee recommends booking a nanny in advance, especially if you’ve found a favorite.
“The more notice we have the better, and booking in advance almost always guarantees the parent can have the same person each time,” she said.
In addition to its childcare service, Artsy Nannies sells educational toys, puzzles, children’s books and more. There is also an area dedicated to handmade infant and children’s items made by local artists.
Artsy Nannies is located on North Main Street between Barefoot Don and Posaré Salon. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information visit www.ArtsyNannies.com or call 702.448.4352. |
